An American–Egyptian family creating the kind of Egypt journey we wanted for our own family.
Poema was founded by Roman and Sara — an American–Egyptian family who share a deep love for Egypt, meaningful travel, and genuine hospitality.
Having lived between cultures, we saw how many travelers experienced Egypt through rushed schedules, tourist traps, and impersonal tours. We believed there should be another way — one that felt more thoughtful, personal, seamless, and deeply connected to the real Egypt.
So we created Poema.
Every journey we design is built with the same care we would want for our own family: warm local hospitality, honest guidance, carefully paced experiences, and the comfort of knowing someone truly cares about your trip from beginning to end.
Sara brings the local insight and cultural connection of growing up in Egypt, while Roman brings an American traveler’s perspective on comfort, communication, and detail. Together, we bridge both worlds to create journeys that feel personal from start to finish.
Poema comes from the Greek word meaning “masterpiece” or “poem” — a reflection of our belief that every journey should be crafted with beauty, intention, and meaning.

Poema Tours was the perfect company to choose for my Cairo/Giza trip. Sarah and Roman were so attentive to the needs of our small group. I am most grateful for their flexibility in visiting the specific sites we choose to see. Due to a situation beyond our control, our trip was cut short three days but they were able to switch plans around so that we could explore the most places possible throughout our journey. Sarah’s knowledge of history and local culture made it easy to understand the historical impact of the museums and mosques we visited. Seeing the sunset from an faluka and the pyramids at night were simply breathtaking.
